Simon Veterinary Surgical is now a Certified Woman Owned Business

That’s right! Simon Veterinary Surgical has becomes a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise in hopes of inspiring young women.

A little back story to this … As Dr. Simon’s younger sister (and now also her Marketing Director), I’ve witnessed her career journey, from starting vet school in 2006 to opening her own business in 2017. And like most women in STEM fields, the vast majority of her mentors along the way were male. She found very few female mentors in the field of veterinary medicine, especially female business owners.

 Now, as the CEO and head surgeon of her own company, Dr. Simon is rewriting the narrative. She aims to be the mentor that she never had, and in doing so, consistently takes budding young women under her wing to foster their curiosity for veterinary medicine. She has reimagined the small animal surgery process and encourages others to find their own entrepreneurial spirit. And not only that, but her business is killing it (metaphorically, of course; Doc saves lives every day).

Dr. Simon’s story is IMPRESSIVE and deserves to be acknowledged. As SVS becomes a Certified Woman-Owned business, we celebrate the tremendous amount of time, energy, and passion Dr. Simon has put into her business to reach this point. So here’s to you, Dr. Simon.
